Berlin: Promotion of Montenegro’s interests in the Federal Republic of Germany
Director General for Economic Diplomacy Biljana Šćekić presented to her colleagues in Berlin the business environment and investment opportunities in Montenegro in order to bring closer to German partners the opportunities for small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) and strategic projects in Montenegro.
Ms Šćekić met with Director General for Economic Affairs, Dieter Walter Haller, with whom she exchanged opinions on prospective cooperation and concrete activities.
During her two-day visit to Berlin, Ms Šćekić held a series of bilateral meetings at the ministries of foreign affairs and economy, Association of German Chambers of Commerce and Industry (DIHK), and the Committee for East and Central Europe, who will work as partners to our diplomatic representations in Berlin, Frankfurt, and Munich in promoting Montenegro’s economic interests in Germany. In that regard, the first concrete activity to be implemented will be a presentation of Montenegro and its potentials to institutions and companies in several cities across Germany in May and June. Moreover, German partners will support knowledge transfer to Montenegrin institutions in the area related to education and training programmes for future entrepreneurs. Director General also spoke about a regional conference that the Committee on Eastern European Economic Relations will host in Montenegro in September.
Ms Šćekić also met with executive director of the German Trade and Invest agency for investment promotion, Robert Hermann, with whom she agreed on an exchange of cooperation and experience between his agency and Montenegrin institutions.
German partners underlined good cooperation with our Berlin embassy and welcomed the opening of the Consulate General in Munich, which they said would contribute to the promotion of our economic interests in Bavaria.
